The flavors are dark, evoking black cherry, blackberry and plum, with a hefty dose of iron, wild herbs and eucalyptus. The lush texture midpalate offsets dry tannins that infuse the finish. A beam of energy keeps this red long and invigorating. Best from 2029 through 2047. 106 cases made, 25 cases imported.

Sparkling, intense ruby with a fine garnet sheen. Notes of crisp, fresh cherries on the nose, along with blood orange and some mint, very clear. Clarity also characterizes the palate, very finely drawn, crisp fruit and fine-meshed tannin characterize the course, juicy, very good tension.

First produced in 2019, the organic Máté 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Veltha comes from fossil-rich galestro soils that sharpen the wine’s contours and enhance freshness, giving it greater definition and detail in this vintage. Beneath that vertical lift lies a rich, velvety core with substance and volume, shaped by fermentation in stainless steel followed by 36 months in large-format French oak. Notes of sour cherry and sweet spice find fine balance, resulting in a focused yet generous Sangiovese. Production is limited to 1,533 bottles.

Pale garnet red in colour with ruby red undertones. Dark sweet scented aromas rise from the glass. Red cherry, blood orange, salty liquorice, dark spice, distant patchouli, cinnamon, clove and graphite. Medley of cherries, red currant, dark plum, pomegranate, black tea and dark chocolate notes. Sensual and flirtatious on the palate, completely seduces the imbiber.
Balanced like a prima ballerina. Sweetish accents from stat to finish. Vevety tannins swim with fresh, friendly acidity. Loiters on the close.

Youthful mid ruby. Minty sweet oak over minerally cherry fruit and still very youthful. Succulent oaked red fruit on the palate with ripe, coating tannins. It is quite oaky, but balanced for the style. Long, sappy and far from ready. Drink 2026-2038 – WS
